Ceramic Pumpkins – Stunning Lifelike Fall Table Decor

Real pumpkins rot. Ceramic pumpkins do not.

Each JINGEE ceramic pumpkin is hand-sculpted from Jingdezhen clay and fired at 1,300°C, faithfully capturing every ridge, indentation, and weathered texture of the real thing. The matte, micro-crackle finish is not merely painted on; it is the result of a unique glaze formula interacting with kiln temperatures—specially developed to replicate the powdery, frosted look of a natural gourd.

Display them on your Thanksgiving table, on the mantel, on the front porch in October, or on the kitchen counter in November. These ceramic pumpkins are perfect for any space touched by the holiday spirit—and unlike real pumpkins, they will be waiting for you again next year.

Available in 7 color options; and can be purchase individually or as a set.

Price range: $180.00 through $230.00

Returns/Exchanges

Product care

All our works are 100% lead-free, non-toxic, and finished with food-safe glazes.

Forged in 1,300°C kilns, your JINGEE vessel is inherently durable. Yet, its handcrafted nature invites mindful preservation. To ensure it lasts a lifetime, we recommend the following:

1、Mindful Cleansing: Though dishwasher and microwave safe, we highly recommend gentle hand washing with mild soap to preserve the unique tactile finish.

2、Temperature Resilience:
Avoid extreme thermal shock. Never move a piece directly from a freezing environment to sudden high heat.

3、Living History: Over time, matte glazes may develop a subtle patina from dark teas or espresso. Embrace these gentle marks—they are not flaws, but the beautiful, unfolding story of your vessel.

Real vs Ceramic

Real Pumpkins

They look beautiful for two or three weeks. Then comes the mushiness, followed by the odor, and finally, disposal. It is the same cycle every year—by November 15th, it’s all over.

JINGEE Ceramic Pumpkins

From the moment you receive it, it remains there forever, provided it stays intact. Its texture endures, and its colors do not fade. It simply stays put—on a shelf, a mantelpiece, or a table—until you decide to put it away.

Why does Jingdezhen clay produce this specific surface texture—something other clays cannot achieve?

Jingdezhen sits atop kaolin deposits with a unique mineral composition—high in alumina and silica, yet low in iron—which yields a white, translucent finish when fired at 1,300°C. This is the very same clay that has made Jingdezhen the world’s porcelain capital for over a millennium. Our ceramic pumpkins are crafted from a stoneware formulation of this clay; it retains a slight porosity after firing, creating the natural, micro-cracked texture visible on the surface. This effect cannot be replicated with ordinary ceramic clay; it requires the specific soil found in this particular place.

Craft Story:From a lump of Jingdezhen clay to your shelf: [5] steps, [30] days.

  1. Step 1—Modeling (approx. [3] hours per piece): these ceramic pumpkins are individually hand-sculpted—no molds are used. Artisans build the form by hand, referencing photos of real pumpkins, ensuring the asymmetry, rib depth, and stem angle match the natural prototype. Since the clay shrinks by approximately [12]% during firing, the piece is sculpted slightly larger to compensate.
  2. Step 2—Drying (approx. [10] days): The sculpted piece dries slowly at room temperature. Drying too quickly causes cracking; this stage cannot be rushed.
  3. Step 3—Bisque Firing (fired at over [920]°C for [20] hours): This stage sets the form and removes residual moisture. Pieces that crack during this phase—approximately [12]%—are discarded.
  4. Step 4—Glazing (hand-applied, [3] coats): A matte glaze is applied by hand in three layers, with each layer allowed to dry before the next is added. The fine crackle texture forms naturally during the final firing as the glaze and the clay body shrink at different rates.
  5. Step 5—Final Firing (fired at [1180]°C for [25] hours): Colors emerge and the texture is set. These ceramic pumpkins  either emerge from the kiln perfect—or the process starts over.

Ceramic pumpkins that fail quality inspection are smashed, and the clay is recycled. We share this not to impress you, but because we believe you should know what is included in the $180 you are considering spending; a large portion of the cost behind these ceramic pumpkins accounts for pieces that never make it to the shelf.
