Forged in 1,300°C kilns, your JINGEE vessel is inherently durable. Yet, its handcrafted nature invites mindful preservation. To ensure it lasts a lifetime, we recommend the following:
1、Mindful Cleansing: Though dishwasher and microwave safe, we highly recommend gentle hand washing with mild soap to preserve the unique tactile finish.

"The Dreamer" a Black Candle Holder Set by Shao Changzong for Jingee
When It's Lit Most candle holders just hold a candle. This one does something you only see the second the wick catches fire: the porcelain is glazed a mirror-deep black and, as it flickers, light and shadow slide across the form's surface. Empty, it’s a silent sculpture. Lit, it’s the most living thing in the room.
These black candle holders were dreamed up by the Chinese artist Shao Changzong for Jingee. He sculpted the vessels around the shape of what they call a “dreamer,” a soft, human silhouette sketched into the form, then had it hand-painted in gold on a tray with a white ceramic glaze the color of jade and patterned after the classic apple blossom flower. The three colors – ink-black, warm gold, porcelain-white – are in conversation. Nothing on a screen or print will even approach it, so intimately are they rendered and fired by hand in Jingdezhen (where they’ve made porcelain for 1000 years).
Place them on a dining table for a long, slow meal; on a mantel; on a console table near the entryway. They contribute mood the way great lighting does, although no one could quite pinpoint why the room suddenly felt purposeful. And because they come giftboxed, these black candle holders prove to be one of those gifts you keep: for a housewarming, wedding, anniversary or for anyone whose style you desire to match.

Biography of Artist Shao Changzong
Artist Shao Changzong is an accomplished figure in the fields of sculpture and ceramic art, as well as a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC)—affiliated with UNESCO—and the International Sculpture Center (ISC) in the United States. He is based at the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Jingdezhen Ceramic University and has dedicated 23 years to the art of porcelain.
