It is designed to fit perfectly in the hand, with a rim wider than the base—resembling a flower in bloom. The turquoise glaze deepens in hue as the eye travels downward. When you tilt the cup, the delicate "linglong" (translucent openwork) patterns on the inner wall catch the light, transforming the simple act of pouring into a moment worth pausing for.

Two distinct techniques. Without either one, this cup could not exist.
The exterior of this ceramic coffee cup is carved using the “Páhuā” (sgraffito) technique—a Jingdezhen craft in which artisans manually scrape away the surface layer of the unfired clay, stroke by stroke, to create intricate floral patterns. The petal-shaped rim is hand-formed and flared outward at a precise angle, allowing the cup to bloom like a flower while maintaining its structural integrity.
The interior features the “linglong” (translucent fretwork) technique: rice-grain-sized cutouts are filled with transparent glaze during firing; invisible under ordinary light, they glow when the cup catches window light or candlelight. Most people do not notice them until the third or fourth use—but once seen, they can never be unseen.
Each cup requires over a dozen hours of carving before its initial firing. No two are exactly alike.
