Product care

All our works are 100% lead-free, non-toxic, and finished with food-safe glazes.

Forged in 1,300°C kilns, your JINGEE vessel is inherently durable. Yet, its handcrafted nature invites mindful preservation. To ensure it lasts a lifetime, we recommend the following:

1、Mindful Cleansing: Though dishwasher and microwave safe, we highly recommend gentle hand washing with mild soap to preserve the unique tactile finish.

2、Temperature Resilience:
Avoid extreme thermal shock. Never move a piece directly from a freezing environment to sudden high heat.

3、Living History: Over time, matte glazes may develop a subtle patina from dark teas or espresso. Embrace these gentle marks—they are not flaws, but the beautiful, unfolding story of your vessel.

Description

The Red the Qing Emperors Couldn't Get Enough Of

This’s red, this’s rosso, and then this’s rouge water. This isn’t just fired-and-glazed ceramic coffee cup — it actually boast a “rouge water” glaze, a pink-red hue Jingdezhen created specifically for the Qing emperors because of how complex it is to make. A mistake in the temperature or chemistry will leave you with a murky hue or a shattered piece in the kiln. When the chemistry, temp, and the timing are all right, it beams with a saturated rose tone that transitions from soft pink in the light to deep ruby in the shade.

It took two Firings to produce:

(1)  The ceramic coffee cup is first fired at > 1,300 deg C to render it strong and sturdy.
(2)  Then the rouge water is applied and fired at a lower temp so the color becomes vibrant.
(3)  And finally, the rim is coated by hand in real gold.

It takes three separate hand-processes to produce one 6.4oz(190ml) coffee/tea cup — hence the price; hence the uniqueness; hence the perfect espresso companion. It has Over 1,100 handcrafted “dragon scale”ridges on its exterior giving it just enough texture to grip and play across the light.

Best suited for espresso, macchiato, cortado or tea rather than a disposable to go. When sitting empty on a display shelf, it can function as  a decorative object; when filled with a steamy beverage, the gold trim, coupled with the rose rouge shimmer, transforms a quick drink into a meditative moment — and on the gift shelf into an “unforgettable” object for a gourmand, a coffee aficionado or ceramics lovers.
